Get ready to tame those tresses. We all want luscious locks, but sadly our barnets often refuse to behave. Fed up with frizz? A good blow dry will leave your hair looking smooth, sleek and shiny – making bad hair days a thing of the past. Sounds like it’s time to reach for that hairdryer...

To successfully blow dry your locks at home, begin with a thorough shampoo and rinse. Then gently towel dry your hair, before carefully combing it through – this will get it ready for applying the heat.
Using a round barrelled brush, place underneath a section of hair and pull gently from the roots to the tips of your tresses, following closely with the hair dryer. Always make sure the air is flowing downwards – you want to fight the frizz, not encourage it.
If you have a full head of curls, it’s a good idea to fit your hairdryer with a diffuser, as well as using products such as mousse or hairspray to keep the hair in place. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that blow drying tends to be more effective on certain types of hair than others. If your barnet is naturally straight, then half the battle is won already - whereas a curly afro may be harder to control.
Looking for something that lasts a bit longer than a regular blow dry? A keratin conditioning treatment will resist the wind and rain, making it a favourite with those who want to look perfectly groomed 24/7.
