A spa for every budget (in one, easy read)

Published on 7 September 2018 - Last updated on 19 December 2025 by Beth Ryan

Relaxing is priceless. Sort of. Lucky for us (and my obsessive shoe-buying habit), there’s a venue to suit every budget. Each as dreamy as the next, with a little difference in the services on offer. So from London town, to Chester, here’s a wondrous list of spas with top class facilities that won’t break the bank. Get saving – or don’t – there’ll be a place for your right here.

  • 1 A real steal

    Spa Experience Kensington Leisure Centre

Okay, let’s start with a real winner – this place offers a thermal spa day for £15. A trip to the cinema trip vs. an entire day of luxury (know what I’m choosing). Located in the New Kensington Leisure Centre, it’s affordable indulgence in West London, with prices starting from £10PP. A good call if you’re gift-hunting – what friend would not want to receive this?

  • 2 Mid-range, top luxury

The Spa at The Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel & Spa

If you’re venturing a little further North, the MacDanald Craxton Spa in Chester is a dreamy spot for a weekend of chill. Spa days start from £49, with all the usual good stuff (beyond the fluffy robe). Give the mud rasul a try; the treatment is the ultimate skin-cleanser and seriously relaxing – nodding off is likely (and acceptable). With a laid-back ambience and calming aesthetic, it’s worth breaking from the day job for a visit.

  • 3 What a treat

Blue Harbour Health Club and Spa at The Chelsea Harbour Hotel

This one guarantees that ‘spoilt’ feeling – a 5* spa with decadent suites for you to rest that newly-relaxed head. It’s super close to central London (we’re talking thirty minute tube from Big Ben himself), but delightfully positioned right by the Chelsea Harbour. That’s about as zen as a UK location can get – and a great one for the Instagram feed, FYI. The food is 10/10 too – take me there.

  • 4 Feeling fancy

The Spa at Luton Hoo Hotel Golf and Spa

The Spa at Luton Hoo Hotel Golf and Spa is grand. Like Downton Abbey grand (photographic evidence here). The five-star hotel sits within 1,000 acres of parkland, and right beside the golf course. You can struggle to decide what to eat at the two award winning restaurants (one of life’s greatest struggles), while the treatment menu is tasty too. Luxury on tap – head here.
