Very relaxing day, food was gorgeous and facilities were really good and clean. Staff were very helpful and treatments were amazing.

Before arrival I phoned the spa to advise that we would be slightly delayed due to heavy traffic which was beyond our control.
The lady who answered the phone said that unfortunately it would eat into our treatment time.. we were very disappointed to hear this.
On arrival the Manor House looked very pleasant, but this soon changed as we entered the building. We arrived only 10 minutes late, to be told that we were now only entitled to 1 x 25 minute treatment. So, not sure what happened to the remaining 15 minutes?! The lady on reception provided us with some form of gown and towel, the towels were discoloured and looked more like a tea towels. The gowns were dreadful...containing holes! I asked about our slippers, to be told that none were provided! This is the only spa that I have visited that does not provide slippers! The changing rooms were dirty and smelly. On entering the spa... we were absolutely gobsmaked. It really cannot be discribed as a SPA. The jacuzzi was out of order, apparently this has been the case for months. The wooden bench inside the sauna was loose and danagerous... the pool was freezing cold and the pool area floor was dirty! Bare in mind that I was bared footed :-(
We were taken to our treatment rooms and things just did not improve! the bed and towels were stained and dirty. No professional spa products used by the therapists! Dodgy looking tubs of oil.. to be truthful the standard of massage left an awful lot to be desired.
Had to get changed to go for lunch as this was in a separate building (no slippers provided)
Lunch was a set menu, very average. Potion size, very small. Staff were pleasant.
We only stayed at the SPA - 2hrs maximum. Seemed that other guests had the same opinion as us and they didn’t stick around either.
Feel let down by Manor House Spa and the precious reviews on this Spa are not accurate.

Booked a double room massage to be told when taken for our massage that we would have to have single rooms as the bed was broken in the double room!! Waiting area after the massage was in the nail bar, had to ask for water as not offered to me then had to go get it myself from a water machine by the swimming pool. Manor House need to take some lessons from Ramside or Seaham Hall on customer etiquette!!

Very pleased with our visit a relaxing and clean environment. A pity that jacuzzi was not operational but this was made up by the offer of a free return visit. Lunch took too long to serve making us late for our treatment. We will return
