My friends and I visited the Manor House for birthday celebrations. Before we arrived I read the reviews from the previous weeks some of which were poor, I decided to ring the Spa to my mind at ease in which they did and confirmed what the reviews had said about the jacuzzi being out of order. Upon arrival we were politely greeted and given a run down of the day, we were also given our towels and robes. All our robes did have holes in them I think these need to be replenished with new ones. The spa treatments themselves were very relaxing the therapists we had were chatty and made conversation. We all choose to have the facial and not one of us could find fault. I would highly recommend the facial to anywhere we all left feeling highly refreshed and our skin felt amazing. The place itself does need a bit of TLC such as in the steam room this did not smell to clean and other areas around the pool and floor were dirty in parts , I think if this was done the place would be lovely and they could probably charge a lot more. We decided to have lunch around 12 and arrived at the restaurant. The menu was better than what was online and offered more choice , the soup lacked taste however the rest of the food we had was lovely and excellent value for money. The only thing that let the restaurant down was when our table was cleared rather than just taking a few plates what the waitress could carry, she scraped all the plates at our table right in front of me which is something nobody should do in front of a customer at all !!! Overall this spa offers value for money two treatments lunch and use of the spa all day and we did all leave feel refreshed However I’m confident with a bit of work and tlc in places this spa could offer so much more.
Warm welcome on arrival. Facilities were basic, some unavailable and we were given passes to come back to use the jacuzzi another day. Treatments were excellent, staff members were great who did the treatments. Once treatments had finished the spa was much busier and the customer service from this point wasn’t as good. Not as warm a welcome, foh staff were dismissive. The service in the hotel restaurant was shocking. Staff were rude and snappy, unhelpful and most didn’t have a clue what was going on. We were forgotten about, seated late and they couldn’t manage to deliver food to the right table on a first try. Twice we were offered another tables food. All in all, very average. Wouldn’t pay full price and pleased I’d bought a groupon-although probably wouldn’t repurchase the groupon either after the restaurant experience.
The spa area does not have many facilities and those that it does have desperately require some maintenance. It looks like it has been a nice area but has been neglected and needs cleaning and painting. The treatment rooms were better but if the therapists could do with some Additional training on how to greet and explain the therapies to people. The therapist walked in on me getting changed which I felt very uncomfortable about! It was cheap and I guess you get what you pay for but it’s a real shame as the building it is in is lovely and I think they have a lot of potential to offer an amazing spa but unfortunately this is not the case at the moment
Excellent value for money.
