I loved our stay at the Hotel - it’s a lovely place, we had a nice room, the grounds were great and we generally enjoyed the atmosphere there. The Spa is a little on the run down side, though, with showers only drizzling and the pool area neglected. The outdoor pool, however, is brilliant! Food in the restaurant wasn’t great, but the atmosphere was. Breakfast was good. Our treatments would have benefitted from better communication - it was delivered in complete silence. Would come back though.
Afternoon tea was great, well looked after by a member of staff. Carpets throughout the venue need replacing or a deep clean, lots of dirty marks. More attention to detail with cleaning in the bathroom, mould in shower, mould on tiling, limescale on shower head. More towels in the room, had to ask for more towels at reception after our treatment. Wasn’t made clear when booking there was no lift! My mother struggled to get up and down to the room on 2nd floor (she’s 70). Breakfast was very good.
Was really lovely experience, asked lots of questions to see what was best for me during my massage. Focused on the parts which were causing me most discomfort. Felt like a new person afterwards
