I've been visiting the same salon for quite a while and was getting a bit bored with it as it was always quite a hectic pace so thought I'd try somewhere new and closer to home.
The salon is really intimate (it actually looks like an independent wine merchant from the outside as they also sell wine and you get a complementary glass with your cut) and everyone in there is super friendly.
My stylist was Marine, a lovely French girl who was very sweet. We discussed colours (I'm not normally too precious so I'm happy to go with suggestions) and she started. The foils she was folding had a very fine bit of hair (I like my highlights subtle) so I had no reason to worry. Once washed out though, I saw streaks of bright hair next to much darker tones which looked quite harsh and not very natural but I didn't express my concern at the time. On getting home, the light showed up the difference in colours even more so than at the salon. I called them and mentioned my concerns and they booked me in again on the Monday FOC. She redid the top half of my head with a blending colour to even out the dark/light tones and it looks so much better.
In summary, a lovely little salon and despite the initial hiccup, I will definitely be going again as you certainly feel looked after, more so than in a hectic salon where the seats are armrest to armrest and you're crammed in like sardines.
I've been coming to Chez Stephan for over five years and have never been disappointed. Every stylist I've had has done a fantastic job and I love the atmosphere and the glass of wine that comes as standard. My last hair cut was with Charline. She gave me some great advice and sent me off on holiday with a beautiful cut.
