If there’s one thing our Group Beauty Director Liz Hambleton has had a lot of, it’s facials. From a professional peel to a 24 Karat Gold skin smoother, here she walks you through her favourite facials in London…

1 Best for: Skin Tightening Radio Frequency Facials
Chelseé Lewis is my personal go-to for Radio Frequency facials. If you haven’t discovered the lifting, smoothing and skin tightening effetcs of RF then there’s no better place to go to try it. Using RF energy, the facial works to heat up the lower layers of the skin, stimulating collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production. Chelseé also uses a blast of Cryo at the end to cool and heal the skin further.

2 Best for: Environ Facials
Cristina Coehlo is the woman to visit if you want your skin to have the ‘Environ’ effect. Loved by beauty editors the world over (including me!) Environ is a professional skincare range of products and treatments that overhaul any complexion, no matter the issue. Cristina skillfully performs their active vitamin, collagen power facials and works wonders.

3 Best for: a skin brightening facial
Give Caudalie an hour of your time and they’ll give you a rested mind and body, and a glowing, invigorated complexion. Naturally active products and facials that focus on radiance and skin health, I am a huge fan of their VineActive Glow Activating Facial when I'm going through a dull skin period.

4 Best for: toning and lifting CACI facials
Seduire London know a thing a two about CACI. With the latest CACI machines just waiting to give your skin an electro-pulse workout, you can ask them to treat specific areas (like the jowels) or focus on your entire face depending on your budget and needs. I love the lift it gives my cheekbones.

5 Best for: deep cleansing extraction facials
Face Place use a combination of dry steam, extraction, peels and galvanic therapy to give your pores the deepest clean they’ve ever had. A brillant fix for spot-prone or city skin. Their therapists also manage to make this a really soothing, nurturing facial as well, which in my experience is hard to do when spot-squeezing is involved.

6 Best for: 24K gold facials
Cucumba in the heart of Soho is a fantastic place to try a 24 Karat Gold Facial. A real treat before a night out, your skin is cleansed, exfoliated, steamed and is then covered in gold sheets which soothe, nourish and feed the skin with minerals. You’ll be left glowing and plumped.

7 Best for: a professional peel
Dr David Jack is the go-to man of the beauty industry and a safe, experienced set of hands to put your face in if it’s a peel you’re after. Having had several myself, I can tell you modern peels are virtually painless (a bit of tingling and warmth at most), very quick, and can help to improve open pores and acne, as well as improving the look of pigmentation.

8 Best for: a plumping facial massage
Decleor offer the kind of facials that make you feel like you’ve spend the enitre day in a spa. Their real strengh is facial massage and if you find yourself wishing the massage part of a facial would last longer, you’ll be more than satisfied with their facial pilates and facial yoga facials. Dreamy.

9 Best for: an express facial
The House Of Elemis have an amazing choice of 30 minute facials on offer. Their Defining Moment facial and their Firm Favourite Lifting facial are my top two picks. As well as hands on healing and amazing products, you also get the soothing vibes of their London day spa to help you chill into your treatment.

10 Best for: micro-needling
Cosmetech in Chelsea is located right on the Kings Road (handy!) but I suggest you skip the shopping spree and save your pennies for their Micro-needling treatment. Brilliant for anyone looking to plump and freshen their skin. The controlled damage caused by the needles can also improve acne scars, open pores and deep lines. Does it hurt? A bit. Will you be red? Yes. Is it worth it? In my opinion, yes.

FAQs
What types of facials can you book for skin tightening?
You can book a Radio Frequency facial to lift, smooth and tighten your skin. This treatment uses RF energy to heat deeper skin layers, boosting collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production. A blast of Cryo at the end cools and heals your skin.
How do you brighten dull or tired skin with a facial?
Choose a skin brightening facial that focuses on radiance and skin health. Treatments using naturally active products, like the VineActive Glow Activating Facial, leave your complexion glowing and refreshed. This option is ideal during periods when your skin looks or feels dull.
Which facial is effective for deep cleansing and extraction?
A deep cleansing extraction facial combines dry steam, extraction, peels and galvanic therapy to thoroughly clean your pores. This treatment is especially suitable for people with spot-prone or urban-exposed skin. Therapists provide a soothing experience, even when extracting spots.
What can you expect from a professional peel treatment?
A professional peel is virtually painless, causing only mild tingling and warmth, and is quick to perform. This treatment can improve open pores, acne and pigmentation. It gives you a fresher, clearer appearance with minimal discomfort.
Does micro-needling help improve acne scars and deep lines?
Yes, micro-needling can help improve acne scars, open pores and deep lines by creating controlled micro-damage in the skin. While the treatment may cause some redness and a bit of discomfort, many find the results—plumper and fresher skin—worth it.
