I've been coming here for the past 3yrs. The visits truly are a complete hit and miss. Depending on which staff member is available (as you can't book with one particular person), and also even if you have the same staff member, they have their good days and bad too. Are they being timed by the manager? I genuinely dont know. This time I had someone who I had seen at the salon only once before. And she was truly not to be recommend (sorry, was never given a name). She was excessively rough when trying to remove the shellac, completely ignored my repeated "ouch" and only stopped when I asked her to maybe let the nail polish remover sink in a bit longer. When doing the manicure, she didn't put cuticle cream on the cuticles to soften them up. When I asked why, she said "you never put cuticle cream for Shellac!" BS! I've been having Shellac polish on my nails, often at this very salon, for years and everybody but her always did a proper manicure with cuticle cream. So then she slammed some cuticle cream on, not letting it sink in but immediately start pushing the cuticles back etc. Then, when it came to cutting the nails back, she asked how I wanted it, I said round as the edges always get caught somehow...and she keeps leaving edges. So I ask her to please file off the edges, and again, she starts doing it with an attitude and stops after one nail so that I had to ask her to do it with all 10fingers. Exhausting! People like her really shouldn't be in a customer-facing profession. When it came to the actual Shellac polish, she then was doing it so quickly and carelessly, that she left little bumps of nail polish at the tip of the nails as it simply wasn't spread out enough with the brush. Moreover, at the very end, when the top coat is applied, she dipped the brush into the top coat once and attempted to cover 2-3nails with it. There was of course not enough top coat on the brush for that amount of nails, thus not the entire nail was covered leaving the Shellac to be more susceptible to breakage and splitting. The proof is in the pudding: Often my Shellac nails stay perfect for 3, even 4weeks, depending how well they were done. This polish was done precisely 11days ago and the Shellac polish has been coming off for a couple of days already. They say it's a two week polish (as opposed to the 3-4wks I often get out of it), but this one didn't even manage that. Poor effort.
