I would certainly NOT recommend this spa, it was dirty, the tiled floors were very very dirty and the whole spa needs a total refurb, the pool had all green mould around it and the water was greasy, the steam room had an awful smelling odour, the jacuzzi was broken, the dinning room was grubby and needed cleaning. The cold water fountain in the spa area was not cold, the cups were on a table and ever so many knocked them over on to the floor and put the cups back on the table as clean to use, the litter bin had no enclosed lid. Worst experience ever and a comple waste of £40 each !! Dont go it was terrible. However all of the staff were very nice.
Great visit. Lovely treatments and food. The Manor House Hotel was a relaxing and impressive building and I Love the extension that fits in loungers, something that was a gap before. The spa facilities are great although the jacuzzi was out of action. The only thing I'd change is allowing drinks in the spa, even just on the lounger area, as most spas allow people to have a nice glass of fizz whilst in the spa without having to get up and go outside to the bar.
My visit was so relaxing from start to finish..... a perfect atmosphere for a spa day. My back massage could have been more firm, but the facial was heavenly! The food is tasty and plentiful and the solarium is wonderful for a relaxing lie down. The value for money is exceptional and all the staff are helpful and pleasant. I will definitely be going again.
Excellent value. Lovely treatment. Very good food. Enjoyable day would recommend.
We were looking forward to a lovely relaxing spa break. Upon arrival it looked promising. However, on entry to the spa we were so disappointed and it got worse the longer we stayed. The number of treatments on offer was disappointing (to put it politely). Then when we were handed our robes they were obviously well worn and in need of replacement. Both mine and my friends had holes in. The changing rooms didn’t get any better. Dirty and clearly seen better days. On entry to the pool area the floor was disgustingly dirty. The jacuzzi was out of action. (And had been for some weeks as I read in another review) the steam room looked grubby and uninviting. The sauna looked better but by this time we were so horrified by our experience we did not venture in. The ladies came to collect us to take us through to the treatment area. We had to walk down a narrow path at the side of the pool. I stepped on some kind of drain cover which was cracked and my bare foot very nearly went completely through it. We had both booked for a back, neck and shoulder massage. The relaxing music was on way too loud. The towel on the bed my friend was asked to get under was wet and had clearly been used for a previous customer. The massage itself was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. The therapist applied so much oil at the start that by the end it was running off my chin and down my chest. The technique was unusual to say the least it felt the therapist was unsure what she was actually supposed to be doing and when she did seem to recall how to do it flitted to do that and then resumed moving her hands up and down the oil with no particular pressure or pattern to the movements. In conclusion, we had intended to spend 2 days relaxing in the spa but in actuality we spent 1/2 an hour in there (and that was 20 minutes too long! ) A venue that promised lots and delivered little!!!
