I have attended the Manor House Spa today, 3rd November with a friend as a birthday present. This was booked under Helen Wilks. To say that I am disappointed would be a vast understatement.
On arrival we were offered a choice of upgrades; Nicola opted for a collagen facial and aromatherapy back neck and shoulder massage. I opted for a aromatherapy back, neck and shoulder massage. These carried a cost of £5 extra per treatment and did not represent value for money. These alleged upgrades were not as described; the massage oils did not carry a smell and the “massage” was a sloppy figure of 8 repeated several times, not incorporating and shoulder or neck massage.
The most digesting element of the day was when my massage therapist started my facial. One arrival I thought the room has a smell of smoke but put this down to it having an external door. The “room” was no more than a cupboard poorly partitioned off from the other room. This was not the case. Her hands smelt heavily of cigarette smoke, leaving me feeling sick for the duration of the facial. While I had a face mask on she was also sat behind me using her phone; this is not acceptable!
After treatments we used the shower facilities. The drainage in my cubical was that poor it was almost a bath!
The spa day was purchased through groupon at a cost of £70 for two plus an additional £15 for “upgrades”. This is not what is expected and does not represent value for money.
Visited on a Groupon deal, excellent value for money, good facial and massage, very pleasing therapist Vanessa.the pool was inviting the jacuzzi lovely. Didn’t use steam room or sauna. The chairs iaro
Around the pool seen better days. Lunch was beautiful, the scones and tea were hideous, stail flat and inedible with awful sweet sort of cream! That was a disappointment because the last time they were fabulous. Didn’t pay for them but £2.65 for pot tea is pricey! Anyhow that apart we went for the spa day and I will go again. The hotel is pleasing to the eye!
Very friendly staff throughout. I had body scrub and it did leave my skin lovely and smooth but didn’t feel it covered my whole body. Lay on my back while my legs and arms were done turned over and got my back done. The area around pool is very tight and not a lot of room for relaxing. We ended up having to sit right up beside pool and jacuzzi getting splashed by people using both these facilities. No slippers were given out. Coming on a Monday I thought it would be quiet but it was really busy. Would probably come again
