I was bought this as a gift for our wedding. Having never had a spa day I was really excited. Unfortunately I was very underwhelmed at the facilities, it felt a little bit dirty and no where near the luxury experience I wanted, although I can see you can get a full spa day for £39 so expecting luxury was a bit silly. The place itself didn't feel like a spa, just a room with a pool, a jacuzzi, a steam room and sauna, none of which me and my partner could get in as they were full as it was so busy.
Our treatments were okay, I wouldn't recommend the facial as it is literally cleaning your face with cleanser and then moisturising it. I also had the soft feet treatment which was nice. The girl who did my treatments said she hadn't been there for very long and she was leaving as it wasn't what she expected, she seemed slightly embarrassed to work there. I asked her what kind of products they were what were going on my face and she said they were basic brands that no one had heard of it but they were nice.
My partner had a back neck and shoulder massage along with a body scrub. He said the body scrub was decent but didn't think much of the massage.
When we got out of the treatment rooms we went back into the pool area which was still busy. There are no loungers just chairs and tables (not enough for the amount of people) which don't make the experience very relaxing. Instead of staying around we just went and got ready and asked if we could have our lunch earlier. The receptionist said this was fine, she was lovely and very customer focused.
The lunch itself I thought was nice, I actually felt this redeemed the day a little bit. It was Sunday lunch and I really enjoyed it. There is an £8.00 credit towards lunch for each person and so we only had to pay for drinks. The views from the lounge were also very pretty.
Overall I was pretty disappointed and we left within 2 hours of being there. Of course if you are paying £39 for a spa day with two treatments and lunch I DO think it is good value however I wouldn't go back or book myself in.
My friend and I visited on a Groupon offer. We found the spa facilities great, but felt that the ladies changing rooms could have been a little cleaner and that the showers weren't particularly powerful - if more than one shower was being used the water flow showed to a trickle. The pool and sauna/ steam room were great. We both had a massage from Tanya and thought she was fabulous and the treatment areas were lovely. Overall 4/5.
