Everything was great apart from the price, which was just slightly too much. If men's cuts were only £15-20 I would probably go a lot more often. Rali was great and lovely to talk to!
Before yesterday, I'd been here three times and had a good experience and haircut each time. However yesterday I arrived for a 4.30 appointment and had to wait 40 minutes for the hairdresser to finish the previous client, despite being assured that it would take 15 minutes maximum. If I'd been told the actual time then I could have returned later and it wouldn't have been a problem, or better still, I could have been called earlier. Nevertheless, upon being seated at 5.15 the hairdresser told me she had to leave at 5.30 to get to a class, so she rushed and consequently injured a finger on the scissors. With no one else there, she continued the haircut in pain, much to her credit. However, half way through she said she would need to stop because of her course and would like me to come back in a few days to finish the haircut. Having already waited so long I thought this less than professional. Fortunately the manager arrived just before and insisted she finish the cut, which was finally finished at 6.10 but wasn't the best I've had there. Needless to say I didn't tip and I don't think I'll be coming back.
That Hair Place is without doubt the best haircut I have had in London. I have been coming here for a year now and I'm always impressed with how meticulous and thorough the wash and cut are. The stylists take their time to understand your needs and suggest a look they think would suit. The offer of hot tea or cold beer are always appreciated too. My only reservation would be that on the last few occasions I have had to wait around 15-20 minutes after my appointment time, but given how now the salon is this is really not much of an issue.
