The facial was great - that would be 5* however the spa itself opened at 9 (when we got there) but no staff turned up until 10am. Supposedly this happens a lot. The changing rooms hadn’t been cleaned and we had to wait for the steam rooms to warm up. Pretty disappointing as we had booked this as a birthday treat
I had booked a spa day with a facial and massage. I turned up to be told all therapists had called in sick so no treatments were available. They insisted that everyone had been called in advance with this update. I had received no phonecall, voicemail or email- I had even called twice that morning to ensure everything was fine but no one had picked up! The staff member proceeded to insist I had been contacted until I offered to show her my phone to prove it- she then realised that I had not been informed. They suggested a refund or to re-book for another day- no compensation at all! Terrible service. Whilst I was there 2 more people turned up for treatments so I was not the only one they did not inform. If staff are absent there should be a plan in place to compensate customers but I was made to feel like a nuisance in a place that is supposed to be relaxing and calm. Dreadful.
I have very sensitive skin and the elemis facial really helped soothe the dryness. I’ve had this treatment twice and both beauticians were great and provided some useful advice how to manage my skin. Thank you
