As others have mentioned - a bit of a flustered arrival due to none of the staff apparently having any access to Treatwell bookings, and I was eventually asked to dig out my confirmation email by the one person who seemingly spoke most English so they could see what I was actually booked in for. However, when he saw that I was booked in for regular polish rather than gel he was quick to advise that this takes longer to dry (also echoed by the other staff), which as a bit of an amateur when it comes to all things beauty I really appreciated, as other salons have just whacked it on and then left me to it - not sure how long to awkwardly hang around before eventually leaving and smudging it everywhere.
I was supposedly booked in with Azra, but she was nowhere to be seen that day (another issue with the lack of awareness/use of the Treatwell system I imagine, as it was probably her day off). In fact, compared to when I last visited around a year ago it felt like a completely different salon, with no one I recognised or any of the staff members I could have selected appointments with actually present.
However, I was seen immediately and the lady who did my nails was extremely skilled and thorough. (She didn’t really speak any English but this was fine by me as I find small talk really uncomfortable.)
The pedicure was incredible - the best I’ve had, and despite the number of people walking in, she spent loads of time and energy thoroughly sorting my feet out! I’m on my feet a lot for work so have had really hard skin forever - most attempts quite literally don’t scratch the surface - however I don’t remember them ever feeling as soft as since this treatment. Whereas other places are a bit polite and gentle, she absolutely scrubbed and blitzed my feet and even gave a really firm massage - akin to Thai massages I’ve had in the past. The massage chair was a lovely idea although not particularly effective - seemed to just shake and whir loudly - like a lot of the other equipment, it seemed great in theory however in reality was outdated and/or poor quality. Following this, she put some special flip flop type slippers on and was really careful to make sure I didn’t mess my toenails up before drying them properly once I got my fingers done.
Likewise, the manicure was done really carefully and skilfully and my nails were a lovely shape and flawlessly polished.
The only real issue I’ve had is with the quality of the polish. It was advertised as an OPI manicure/pedicure, however the polish was evidently not OPI, and what I thought was a matte finish was actually very shiny and a bit tacky looking. Furthermore, despite all efforts to keep it on, my fingernails were chipped by the next day. It seems such a waste of such brilliant work. If I return it will either have to be for that night or a gel manicure (however I usually avoid these because I can’t wear nail polish for work).
Finally, my party lashes were also fab - despite my eyes streaming and blinking excessively (sorry!).
Booked via Treatwell but unfortunately it seems the booking system isn’t linked - when I arrived for my appointment there was only one person working, and he politely explained that as he he had just started on one client and had another waiting I would have to come back an hour later! Such a shame as it seemed a nice salon, but I went somewhere else as couldn’t wait
