I had the worst experience in this salon today. I have been going to Rosebery Rooms for months and used to always enjoy my experience so kept booking again and again. The staff were friendly and after the treatment always gave me my privacy to dress alone. Today, being a repeat customer who usually arrives early, I arrived 10mins late only to be abruptly informed by the manager that I was late and had missed my appointment. 10mins!? Surely she could see that I had been a few times before and was quite regular. The manager then proceeded with the treatment anyway. She wasn't that friendly and informed me that I would have to pay more for the treatment I had always had. Why did I have to pay more this time?! In the past I had kept returning because I prepaid and always had the same wax so no conversation about costs was brought up. This particular technician's technique was strange and she didn't make an effort to make me feel comfortable at all. We discussed an extra £5 which I agreed to and when I was about to leave, she asked me for £35 more. I had already paid. I still don't know why I had to pay more this time for a treatment I had always had. I then had to dress in front of her while she prepared for the next customer - no privacy and I felt like I was on a conveyor belt. Like I said, it was never like this in the past. This salon has changed and I left poorer and sadder that I will now have to find another salon.
It was a waste of time! Spent 20mins having to leave work early to arrive for my appointment, then another 20mins completing their questionnaire only to be told after completing it that my treatment cannot go ahead due to one of the medical conditions I had listed, then try to persuade me to have a different treatment to the one I paid for!!! They should have an online questionnaire which should be completed before any treatment and a list of medical conditions that would prevent certain treatments from going ahead!!
Unfortunately the staff were quite cold and unwelcoming on your arrival which was very off putting. The initial reception of the building is beautiful but the room in which the wax took place needed a bit of work. I found the waxer pleasant but her technique was quite painful as the was little break between pulling. When I left the whole area was raw red and stayed so for hours afterwards which is not how me skin usually reacts to waxing. I would be very reluctant to return
The eyebrow treatment was very good, while the pedicure was a bit disappointed. Even if I had a basic pedicure, I would have expected my feet to be soaked first, but she just sprayed them and focused only on painting my nails.
The wax was good, very quick and efficient. The facilities are nice and clean but a little empty with not many other customers, this may just be attributed to the time of my appointment however.
