Absolutely - we had a fantastic time. Very relaxing, and the staff put us at ease and were extremely friendly and helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. The ambience was just right, very peaceful and mellow. Gentle music in the background. The staff explained everything as we went along, and answered all our questions enthusiastically. I don't normally write reviews, but for me to do so means I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definately recommend it!!!
Lovely place and lovely, friendly staff, who couldn't have been more helpful. We were a bit taken aback by the appearance of two men in our hammam - we had assumed we'd have female therapists - but they were very respectful and mindful of our modesty! The treatments were lovely - we were scrubbed and massaged and could hang out and relax for as long as we wanted to afterwards. The restaurant area is also very nice, and I would go there again with friends or family.
We weren't sure what to expect and we were very pleased with what we got. The Pasha is a tranquil oasis on a very busy inner city street. The therapists were excellent, I wasn't keen on being treated by a man and I hadn't thought about that when I booked it, but they were very polite and professional and I was soon at ease. They were both advocates of natural products and they use some Baldwins products (a Walworth institution that produces wonderful chemical free products). It was quite an authentic experience as the building was spotless and the decor made me feel I was in Turkey with the marble and laminate flooring. Onto the treatment, we were left for half an hour to steam and relax and put "black soap" onto our bodies. They then scrubbed us and then covered our bodies in soft soap bubbles made using a cloth bag and then they massaged us as we sat in the Hamam on a marble bench (definitely bring swim wear, bikinis for women so they can soap your midriff). We came out feeling clean and relaxed and we would have definitely ended up having a meal at their wonderful looking restaurant but we had to collect our son before his bed time. I highly recommend having a go!
I had never tried a Turkish Bath before so the owner of Pasha took the time to explain the history and benefits of the treatment and the black soap - which was really great. I wasn't too keen on being sat in a steam room for so long but once it got started I was fine and didn't panic! The therapists were great, but if you're not comfortable with a male therapist I wouldn't say the Hammam would be for you. We had a good giggle about the freezing water too! The treatment itself is really long so you definitely get your money's worth and your skin feels so soft afterward! My therapist wasn't too rough with the exfoliation as my skin is quite fair so rashes easily, but hard enough to get all the dead skin away. I would advise to take your makeup off before you go in and definitely wear swimwear, although you can remove bikini straps for the exfoliation and mud parts of the treatment. All in all it was a fab treatment in a great place, I would recommend!
