i am really happy i have found a gym with a creche. however this was not stated on the website. the ladies that own the creche are lovely and do so many activities with the children. and the price per hour is £4.50 which is good (considering the price of a nursery!) and then i saved my self £9 by booking a block session of 10 hours with a 2 month expiry date. BARGAIN!!! the staff within the gym are nice and extremely helpful and give you an excellent one to one session when being introduced to the gym. they have lots of classes on offer, (again in creche opening hours which is wicked) and a nice waiting area. the music played into la fitness is update and something for everybody. sadly the bar/cafe has gone but the staff said they hope it will re open, but this did not bother me as la fitness is next to cosco and the collenades where their is a food court. i am really happy with my membership so far and will keep you up to date with how its going.

I was expecting a lot more since they were taken over from Dragons last year, and Dragons was pretty grotty as I remember it. Unfortunately not much has changed, the pool is coming to the end of a referb and looks very nice but the changing rooms/toilets/showers were pretty grimy. The gym has received a paint-over but I found the gym equipment dated (in the case of weights etc- same as the ones I used at Dragons years ago) and the cardio equipment a bit cheap and flimsy- you know when there's very few buttons, it sort of wobbles a bit while you're running? And in terms of the cross-trainer, very awkward movements that didn't flow at all. I don't know maybe its a personal preference but I really didn't like the motion of the cross-trainer. My biggest hang up was the dated deco- by which I mean chipped mirrors all around. Very 80's. I think I speak for a majority of average Joes who would rather not watch their fat skin sweat and ripple in the unforgiving lighting. This was my second trail gym pass, the other being Fitness First, and I much prefer looking at motivational quotes deco in large letters on the walls than my own huffing puffing reflection! Small gym, and I'm more of a gymmer than a swimmer so it didn't really do it for me. Overall not impressed. Staff were lovely though.
