I booked a Spa Afternoon with treatment inc afternoon tea, as a treat for my sister’s birthday that day.Unfortunately communication from the off was very poor. When we arrived they had without advising us, brought forward by 30mins the first treatment, so it all felt a bit rushed at the start. The facial though was very nice. Sadly the spa facilities were very tired, inc the unisex changing room & pool area. A total refurb is needed inside, but the outside area was ok. Afternoon tea was good.
I appreciate I got what I paid for as it was a bargain to get the Spa, 50 minute Swedish massage and afternoon tea for 1 price, but the Spa facilities themselves are looking very tired and in desperate need of an update. The hydro pool which was why I was there, as I needed it after walking a marathon, was a bit of a let down as not all the jets were working. The changing rooms are definitely in need of a refurb. However, the treatment with perfect and the afternoon tea was exactly as expected.
Myself and my daughter stayed at the hotel for a night bed and breakfast spa. The hotel grounds and decor was beautiful and stunning. The spa was okay however I’ve never been to a spa where they serve drinks in the pool area and jacuzzi etc . The outdoor pool area was taken over by a group of guests just drinking continuously for over three hours being served numerous cocktails and beers not affording anyone else time to go in there without feeling intimidated. Overall okay
Our stay at Guildford Hall was great value for money. Food was very good as were facilities. Everything could be a bit cleaner and more staff available. We were in the spa all day and never saw any checks to temperatures, cleaning, chemicals etc. in fact in 3 days never saw anyone in the spa. By 3rd day was concerned. Overall very good for money, staff all friendly and helpful.
