The staff , location and food were wonderful. The hotel was very cold and we had to have our fan heater on everytime we were in the room. I noted that people in the restaurant had coats on and even the receptionist had a fan heater. The towel heater was totally inadequate and both mornings we had to dry ourselves with wet towels. There was no wardrobe in our room as it had been converted into a cupboard with shelves.
Amazing value. The food is excellent and drinks are well priced. The spa/pool is a little dated but clean and functional. Our room was probably the worst in the hotel, with a view of a wall covered in fake Ivy. Such a shame when the grounds were beautiful. The shower leaked and didn’t drain. The towel rail worked when it wanted. However, overall I can’t complain for the price we paid and we had a lovely weekend.
Not much of a spa experience at all. Man sat at reception who was not very helpful. Spa reception outdated shabby and in need of clean. No water in drink machine. Changing rooms in need of updating and not clean. Debris over the floor. Steam room smelt of urine. Towels and robes provided were in need of replacing. Therapist however was lovely and the facial and Swedish massage were amazing which was best bit. We would never visit again.
