Very very disappointed. Went to York for the weekend. Booked an hour's treatment to start at 11:30, and received confirmation email. Arrived in York and got a call at 11:10 to ask where I was as I was due to start at 11:00. Explained this wasn't the case to a response that the booking system was having problems and how soon could I get there. Arrived at 11:20 to be told they had another treatment due to start at 12:00 so they would need to "truncate" mine and I wouldn't get all the elements of the session.
The treatment did finish early, but there was still enough time to try to sell me some products. I was then charged the full hour's rate. Not wanting to spoil the start of my weekend any more I paid it but on reflection was disappointed that I had.
After getting home from York I checked my email and found I'd received one at 11:30pm the night before the treatment telling me my time had been moved. I had not asked for this and would not expect this to happen at that time of night and at such short notice.
I have since sent three emails to the business asking for a part refund only to be completely ignored on each occasion. This is at odds to when I booked when I received a response the same day, late into the evening.
I am very disappointed at the unprofessionalism and disorganisation. It spoilt what should have been a relaxing start to a weekend away. Very poor customer service.
I would not go here again.
Reception service is provided by the Hotel, not the spa. It was a little haphazard but friendly. A dog roamed in and out of the lounge area, and the cleaner was vacuuming. Also, there was building work going on during the massage, which rather spoilt the ambience. 'Deep tissue' wasn't very deep, but it was lovely and relaxing.
