De-Lady was de-lightful. There was a slight issue with the timing of my booking through Wahanda but Joan communicated with me really well and was able to quickly book a convenient alternative time. Both Joan and Lady were really lovely and, importantly, I'm very happy with my haircut. Definitely recommend!
I went to De-Lady Salon after I found out they did the Goldwell Kerasilk Treatment, which promises to get rid of the frizz without straightening the curls. I use bleach on a monthly basis and my hair was very dry and damaged. On the evening of my appointment, Lady closed the salon to make sure I had her full dedication, which was very reassuring for some reason. She kindly explained what my options were - the treatment is customisable and allows you to keep the texture of your hair, which is exactly what caught my attention about it. I was very indecisive and she patiently explained the results I would have with each option; she gave her opinion according to what I told her my goal was - tame the frizz and keep the curls - and we decided together what to do.
She was very dedicated and applied the treatment in very thin strands of hair, to make sure the whole surface was going to be coated evenly. I spent over three hours there and, although it had passed her time to go home, she never showed any distress and made sure I was being well looked after.
I was told the treatment would last around 5 months - I did it in February 2015 and it actually lasted over 6, which was brilliant! My hair was still curly, very soft, and with virtually no frizz. The good thing as well is that it does not smell bad - it has like a plant scent - and you can wash your hair straight away if you want to.
I cannot recommend her services enough; she was very kind, professional and dedicated and I will be definitely going back.
Started going here less than a year ago on my daughter's recommendation. My hair was badly damaged so I had a consultation with Lady and she immediately mapped out a plan for recovery. She has been fantastic over the year and my hair is growing back thick and healthy. The prices are very reasonable and the service is always great. I would definitely recommend this place especially for afro-caribbean hair.
Run by lovely ladies. Lovely wash and dry. I have long black hair (technically caucasian) and went for a cut, dry and style.
If combing all your hair back and then just cutting a line straight across is how some hairdressers do it then... :-/ I have never had my hair cut this way since my mum (who is NOT a hairdresser) did it when I was 10 years old with a pair of school scissors. Luckily my hair still long - I will have to go and get a proper cut now.
Price was £30...not really worth what I received, could have paid less and got a better cut going to Hair by Fairy. I was polite and said thank you but will not go back sorry.
Having tried and tested many afro salons in London (some good, all expensive), I was so happy to come across de-lady! Very central and easy to get to, SUCH great value for money. Lady is lovely and knows what she’s doing, and I came out with beautiful, healthy hair! Looking forward to going back soon.
