This experience was absolutely awful. I am left £80 down and my hair is ruined- awful colour and now crap condition. I booked to have a senior stylist for full head of highlights. She did the foils and then left for the day which meant I had another member of staff to wash, toner, and cut. Something I was not made aware of until she actually left. When the timer went off after 25mins she took me to the sink and washed my hair. I was then left with my head in the sink with the toner on for what felt like ages. When the towel was removed - my hair was blue. The toner had been left for so long my hair was completely ash. I said I didn’t like it but I was told it was ‘what my stylist had instructed her to do’. I said I would go away and look at it under natural light. I got home and realised it was worse than I initially thought, the roots are bright orange from under developed bleach and the rest was white/blue from the over developed toner. It was stripey, patchy and the worst highlights I have ever experienced in 10 years of getting blonde highlights!! I rang up, I explained, there was absolutely no empathy- the next available date for the stylist I had booked was 3 weeks away- so I had no choice to have someone else. However, I was told my stylist would be there to advise at the beginning. I went back in a week later, my stylist was nowhere to be seen...someone else! She agreed it was awful but admitted there wasn’t much that could be done. She gave me a half head of foils to try and cover the mess, she explained anymore and my hair would fall out and that I needed to lay off straightening it and I needed to invest in deep conditioning treatments for the next few weeks. She made the best of a bad situation however, I have paid £80 to just get my roots done, but what I have ended up with after 7.5 hours in total at the hairdressers is orange roots, poor conditioned hair which I need to invest in deep conditioners to help it recover and can’t straighten it. The service is absolutely below standard and not acceptable, my hair is ruined now until it grows out and there is absolutely nothing I can do to fix it or it was fall out. I wasn’t even offered a conditioning treatment as complimentary to say sorry...
Excellent value for money! Hairdresser listened to how my hair changing from a blocky ombré to a more gradual balayage and achieved a lovely result. The interiors of the shop aren’t anything special but if you’re looking for a quality hair colour/cut, this is the place
I am an American and went to the Hector Estrada salon in San Francisco regularly in the past for full-head balayage. To me that means a full head fade that's darker at the top and gradually gets lighter horizontally going down. Check out their insta if you want to see what I mean. When I arrived, I tried to explain this to my hairdresser but she said she knew what balayage was and began to work on my hair. I asked several times if she understood me because she was not including all of my hair in the foil for the balayage. I understand balayage means painted, but at the end when I was unhappy with how it turned out the hairdresser told me the photos I showed her were not balayage but full-head color. However, I wanted my full head done in the balayage style, what I ended up with was streaky vertical highlights essentially that do not look natural (despite her insistence that they did). While I take responsibility for not showing her a photograph at the beginning, she was so confident that she understood what I wanted and reassured me not to worry that I misguidedly trusted her. Additionally, I had wanted a cut with long layers, and I really do not feel I have any layers at all. Overall was a terrible experience. The salon called me to offer to re-do my hair, but I would never let them touch my hair again after such a horrible job. Especially given that these treatments are not recommended to be done in such a short time-span. I wanted natural looking balayage and instead got streaky bad highlights. I would not recommend them for any sort of services.
Great cut from Michaela, thank you
Elle stopped my treatment half way through. Although the cut was okay it was felt rushed.
