I’ve been a loyal customer at Chez Stephan for over four years now. Wrote two flaming reviews a few years back each, praising the great service, nice salon and excellent value for money. My last haircut & color treatment was two days ago, and it was once more great. Regardless, I’m not sure whether I will continue as a customer at Chez Stephan. Two reasons: Very unfortunately, there is a high turnover of hairdressers in the salon. So if you like the person that’s cutting your hair... pray that they will still be there in a few months time. Also, I am not happpy about the recently announced change in pricing: To be able to continue receiving the price that I’ve been paying so far per cut/color treatment, I would now have to pay a 50 GBP annual “membership fee”. Yes, 50 quid - regardless of whether/how many times I’ll get my hair cut within a given year. And regardless of whether the stylist who treats me now will even still be there. It’s been a great four years.... I am ready to explore other salons now.
Beautiful salon and welcoming staff. The one gripe was that my hairdresser had quite limited English and it was rather tricky to talk about what I wanted for my hair or ask her for ideas. Resorted to hand gestures!
