Lovely spa, great attention to detail throughout. With water on tap with various fruits, creams and lotions, straighteners, hair dryers, unlimited towels, list goes on. Shower area could be updated in line with the spa itself as its a bit old now but clean and stocked very well with everything you need. Sauna in the main spa didn't appear to be working well but wasn't too much of an issue as we used the one by the showers. Snow room was great and nothing I had seen before. Staff were great! Lovely to receive a voucher with discounts to return but disappointed that a one night stay is not discounted for returning customers. Not many mums are in a position to leave children for two nights. The day itself is a little expensive for the average working mum but when you take into account all the little extras that are provided it is worth going. Grounds are stunning and if you can afford to stay overnight I can imagine it's worth it. I unfortunately could not stay.
We had a lovely few days in a beautiful setting this is our second visit and we would recommend it to friends but the initial reaction is somehow disappointing. There was not quite enough communication about what was on offer or available at the start, once in your room there was a screen full of information, but perhaps a bit more from the Reception staff. We had a confusion over beds as we wanted a double but no body answered the phone from Reception, it was sorted eventually very quickly and efficiently. The room was clean but could do with a revamp, in a spa you would hope for state of the art showers everywhere. There was a confusion over treatments booked/available mainly caused by having to deal with a central booking rather than the venue. The food was amazing and I would recommend going for that alone, the chef had disappeared at lunch time....but did come back and produce beautiful pasta. I guess there was no sense of urgency or customer service acted on quickly which is what you would get in most venues, but it could be argued that it fitted in with the relaxed atmosphere, but then you expect that for the guests more than the staff. The pool is wonderful as are all the tubs and steam rooms, last time there were very few sun beds, now there are masses and it makes a huge difference. The setting is beautiful and calm and we spent a good hour just sitting on a bench by the lake. There were lots of facilities we did not make use of but were all available and a good programme of events to join in with. By the end of the stay we were chilled out and had had a lovely time and would give a review of spot on, but the diffident start and communication let it down, with just a little tweaking it could easily be Tip - top. I would return if there was a good offer available.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, the ground are lovely and the staff are friendly and the room was clean. The sauna/steamroom/iceroom were fantastic as was the swimming pool and Jacuzzi, I had a 25 min massage included with my package which was amazing, the therapist Sam H was brilliant and she was very knowledgeable too. my friend however had the same massage with another therapist and she wasnt impressed in fact it was quite rough even when she asked her for less pressure! i had two other treatments that were disappointing, one therapist talked constantly about her personal life to me throughout and whilst she was a lovely lady, i couldnt relax whilst listening to her problems and the treatment itself was very average. all in all, i would organise a day visit again but only to use the swimming facilities/steam room etc and would only ever book a back massage with Sam, i wouldnt have any other treatments.
A lovely relaxing day and great value booking through Treatwell too! Enjoyed the hula hooping class. Thalassotherapy in the morning was a bit crowded - looked less busy in the afternoon. Facial although only 25 mins was a lovely way to finish the day.
My daughter and I went for a relaxing spa day at Forest Mere and that's exactly what we got. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was one of calm in such beautiful surroundings. We relaxed by the lake before a lovely three course lunch, then lounged in the sun by the outdoor pool - we could have been in the Med! After a swim and aqua robics class in the beautiful indoor pool we prepared for our massage, which was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our day at the spa and would highly recommend.
