Lovely spa, great attention to detail throughout. With water on tap with various fruits, creams and lotions, straighteners, hair dryers, unlimited towels, list goes on.

Shower area could be updated in line with the spa itself as its a bit old now but clean and stocked very well with everything you need.

Sauna in the main spa didn't appear to be working well but wasn't too much of an issue as we used the one by the showers. Snow room was great and nothing I had seen before.

Staff were great!

Lovely to receive a voucher with discounts to return but disappointed that a one night stay is not discounted for returning customers. Not many mums are in a position to leave children for two nights. The day itself is a little expensive for the average working mum but when you take into account all the little extras that are provided it is worth going. Grounds are stunning and if you can afford to stay overnight I can imagine it's worth it. I unfortunately could not stay.

We had a lovely few days in a beautiful setting this is our second visit and we would recommend it to friends but the initial reaction is somehow disappointing. There was not quite enough communication about what was on offer or available at the start, once in your room there was a screen full of information, but perhaps a bit more from the Reception staff. We had a confusion over beds as we wanted a double but no body answered the phone from Reception, it was sorted eventually very quickly and efficiently. The room was clean but could do with a revamp, in a spa you would hope for state of the art showers everywhere. There was a confusion over treatments booked/available mainly caused by having to deal with a central booking rather than the venue. The food was amazing and I would recommend going for that alone, the chef had disappeared at lunch time....but did come back and produce beautiful pasta. I guess there was no sense of urgency or customer service acted on quickly which is what you would get in most venues, but it could be argued that it fitted in with the relaxed atmosphere, but then you expect that for the guests more than the staff. The pool is wonderful as are all the tubs and steam rooms, last time there were very few sun beds, now there are masses and it makes a huge difference. The setting is beautiful and calm and we spent a good hour just sitting on a bench by the lake. There were lots of facilities we did not make use of but were all available and a good programme of events to join in with. By the end of the stay we were chilled out and had had a lovely time and would give a review of spot on, but the diffident start and communication let it down, with just a little tweaking it could easily be Tip - top. I would return if there was a good offer available.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay, the ground are lovely and the staff are friendly and the room was clean. The sauna/steamroom/iceroom were fantastic as was the swimming pool and Jacuzzi,
I had a 25 min massage included with my package which was amazing, the therapist Sam H was brilliant and she was very knowledgeable too. my friend however had the same massage with another therapist and she wasnt impressed in fact it was quite rough even when she asked her for less pressure!
i had two other treatments that were disappointing, one therapist talked constantly about her personal life to me throughout and whilst she was a lovely lady, i couldnt relax whilst listening to her problems and the treatment itself was very average.
all in all, i would organise a day visit again but only to use the swimming facilities/steam room etc and would only ever book a back massage with Sam, i wouldnt have any other treatments.

A lovely relaxing day and great value booking through Treatwell too! Enjoyed the hula hooping class. Thalassotherapy in the morning was a bit crowded - looked less busy in the afternoon. Facial although only 25 mins was a lovely way to finish the day.

My daughter and I went for a relaxing spa day at Forest Mere and that's exactly what we got. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was one of calm in such beautiful surroundings. We relaxed by the lake before a lovely three course lunch, then lounged in the sun by the outdoor pool - we could have been in the Med! After a swim and aqua robics class in the beautiful indoor pool we prepared for our massage, which was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our day at the spa and would highly recommend.

Gorgeous spa!!! Make sure you get there early to enjoy everything as we missed out a bit on some areas. They have a fab outdoor pool and hot tun with sun loungers as well as all of the inside relaxation areas and a lot of classes to choose from. Great deals in the shop on body products too. Would definitely recommend this and I'm very fussy when it comes to Spas :)

Building works going on, will be fantastic when finished but spoils relaxation. Disappointed in staff in the shop who had no knowledge and were too busy to help.

Forest Mere is having lots of building work done so there were large areas shut off. Having said that an upgrade is long overdue. Everywhere looks tired. The biggest change from our last visit is the staff. They couldn't care less. Reception staff made you feel like you were an inconvenience for checking in. Room looked tired. Stood for ages waiting to be seated in the restaurant . During a long lazy lunch plates were just left for the whole service. Customers were clearing their own plates stacking them on nearby tables. It took ages to be served at the treatment suite Champneys has lost its sparkle and needs to up its game

Champneys was a mixture of great and mediocre. We had a fantastic time doing the Bootcamp class which was a tough and well lead workout, and the gym - though tired - has everything you could need. The food was superb, all 3 meals we had there were absolutely excellent and the staff did their best at breakfast to accommodate for the rush. What let it down for me were the treatments. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her 1hr massage and 1hr seaweed wrap, but unfortunately mine were not up to standard. The hot stone massage I had was quite nice, but the treatment room I was in was grubby and desperate for a good clean. The aromatherapy wrap I had was awful - meek body scrubbing and essentially just slapped in oil with a bit of cling film rested on top of the skin. For the money I was really disappointed. That being said, Champneys does have some very good points - the surroundings are gorgeous, the hotel is very nice in places (the pool and ladies relaxation room are very nice) and the fitness classes are great. Just be picky with your treatments and if you don't mind it a bit rough around the edges whilst they are renovating then you will have a good time.

Unfortunately the builders were in on my visit so that kind of took out the option of going onto the terrace or down by the lake. The Thalassotherapy treatment is definitely a Marmite thing and, again unfortunately, I hated it. The facial I had was OK but I wasn't told until I was checking out that I could have made it longer if I'd paid more. I stuck with the option that was included in the day package which was really too short to be of any consequence. The food was delicious but you do feel like you're being rushed as the restaurant has timed entries. Overall I didn't feel pampered but just a number. I also felt that I was looked down upon as all the staff asks you how you're enjoying your "stay" and, when you admit you're only a one day person, they sort of look pityingly at you as if only the people who have forked out serious money to sleep there are likely to have the proper experience. Perhaps they're right...

All good but spent ages trying to work broken lockers only to be told staff that some are faulty. They really should be marked as out of order and fixed! Coat hooks are needed on the back of toilet doors as you end up putting all your belongings in the floor. The small ladies changing room has no hot shower - this too apparently is faulty. More staff is needed at the restaurant as had to wait long time to be served. Finally at the checkout the staff had not heard of Wahanda and tried to charge us the full amount again!
