The spa was good , the room was clean but strangely no toilet door , paid for a 3 course meal in advance and then had to pay £12 extra for a steak , breakfast was ok . We got there at 11 after a 3 and half hour journey to be told we can’t get lunch cause there’s not enough staff so had to make do with a bag of crisps was probably better off staying at a Lenny Henry hotel and just paying £12 for the spa
Went for a long-awaited Spa Day and chose somewhere local. We were not disappointed. The hotel, although a little dated, has been refreshed and the entrance, bar and restaurant are good examples. The main pool is on ground level, but spa itself is downstairs, with small pool, sauna, steam room, relaxation room and the treatment rooms. The Aromatherapy room unfortunately was not operational. This area could definitely do with updating as the facilities are good. Would recommend visiting.
My daughter's, daughter-in-law any myself had a great time on our spa day last Sunday. All the staff - hotel reception, spa, therapists and bar/restaurant - were really friendly and helpful. The spa treatments (manicure and Swedish massage) were really enjoyable and the therapists were obviously very skilled. Although there were other couples and groups using the spa, it never felt crowded as there were a range of facilities to use. We enjoyed being able to use both the spa and hotel pool.
The spa day was very pleasant, but the surroundings are in need of a little TLC I think. The aromatherapy room didn't seem to be anything other than a dark room with a very vague smell of oils but the massage was lovely and the masseur very polite and gave a good massage. Food for lunch was reasonably priced as were the drinks at the bar.
