I get VERY nervous when trying new salons. In fact, I do everything to avoid it, but I needed to find someone new in London so I saw Emete on the Monday Madness deal for a cut and blow dry. She was so understanding. I took my own shampoo because I don't like SLS, but they use SLS free stuff anyway. She gave me tonnes of advice about my hair and really listened when I said I only wanted a little bit taken off. And she took so much care with the blow dry - even using pins and stuff to hold curls and set it. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I booked the Styling consultation and have awarded it 5 stars. The place is small with not much of an ambiance, but the people are really nice and the service is great!
I booked the 'Ladies' haircut and blow dry'. I got a lovely massagy hair wash that lasted a good 15 minutes and then a really nice cut and blow dry. The stylist Dominic gave me some nice tips on how to handle my thick mane which I will surely try this weekend! A nice friendly lot and a good atmosphere.
I am not one to write a review, but have to say, I did not feel welcome. Was barely greeted with a smile and was not asked if I wanted a drink or anything the whole time I was there (2 hours) Usually standard practice at any hair dressers..
I think they may have been double booked so I believe the owner ended up doing my hair, but I wouldn't know because they didn't introduce themselves. I was barely consulted on what I actually wanted to have done.
Other staff were very friendly. Happy with highlights but would not return due to overall unwelcoming experience.
I imagine the whole idea of salons using these offers and discount sites is to attract new customers and hope they will return.. I was a paying customer and ended up feeling like they were doing me a favour and I was wasting their time.
