Massage by it's very nature is detoxifiying. The process of squeezing, pinching, and kneading body tissue, releases contracted tissues, thereby increasing systemic circulation and creating a more free flowing exchange for fresh nutrients to reach cells and tissues and for stuck or stagnant cellular debris to be excreted from the tissue into the bloodstream and lymphatic system to be processed by the Liver, Kidneys and eventually the Heart.
Some types of massage are more aggressive than others in terms of instigating deeper detoxifying effects. Some good examples of bodywork detoxifyers are: Sports/Deep Swedish Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Traditional Thai Massage, Maya Abdominal Massage - this is by no means a complete list.
As with any new regime, it is important to understand the state of your immune system and overall health before engaging in any serious detoxification/cleansing experiences. For example if you have a cold or are chronically sick, receiving even a simple Swedish style massage can make your symptoms alot worse before getting better.
