Welcome to Flow & Massage Therapy at Westwoods Health Club, Edinburgh,

I’m Rosa, a compassionate and intuitive massage therapist with over a decade of experience. All my treatment times refer to hands-on time. I also allow gentle space afterwards for you to get ready slowly, and a moment for me to prepare the room with care so your experience feels calm and unrushed. I specialise in Abdominal Therapy and Lymphatic Drainage, two profoundly restorative and powerful treatments that now sit at the heart of my work.

These methods offer far more than surface-level relief. They invite your body to release what it’s been holding, return to balance, and reconnect with itself. Abdominal Therapy gently supports the belly, womb, lower back and pelvis, helping you drop into your centre with care and grounding. My sculpting lymphatic work supports detoxification, fluid balance, and nervous system regulation — helping you feel lighter, brighter and more energised from the inside out.

My approach is holistic and personal. I work with the whole person, body, mind and soul — and tailor each treatment to meet you where you are. I listen to what’s said and what’s unsaid, and I hold space for you with integrity, warmth and professionalism.

Before starting my practice, I trained extensively and worked in hotel spas and high street salons, building hands-on experience while deepening my skills. In 2015, I completed my CIDESCO, ITEC and Mary Reid qualifications at the Mary Reid Spa Academy in Edinburgh. This was followed by a Diploma in Anatomy & Physiology from Scottish Massage Schools in 2017, and a Diploma in Sports & Remedial Massage from Western School Massage in 2021 — a proud achievement during the height of the pandemic.

Since then, I’ve continued investing in specialised training, including:

  • Abdominal Therapy (as taught by the Abdominal Therapy Collective, directly affiliated with Dr Rosita Arvigo)
  • Lymphatic Drainage & Sculpting Massage (body & facial)
  • Pregnancy Massage (FEDANT accredited)
  • Thai Herbal Poultice Massage
  • Warm Bamboo Massage
  • Hot Stone Massage
  • Confident Skin Therapist certification

Before all of this, I graduated with a BA in Acting for Stage and Screen in 2009, and it was through that creative training in movement and body awareness that I first became curious about how the body holds and expresses emotion. That curiosity led me to massage therapy, and over time, it became my path.

I value compassion, integrity and honesty in both life and work. I know the worth of what I offer not just the time in the treatment room, but the depth, skill and presence that holds it all together. I don’t offer generic massages. I offer a space for reconnection, release and healing.

Nearest public transport:

The venue is conveniently situated close to plenty of public transport options, ensuring a hassle-free journey to the venue. Parking is also free whilst getting a treatment or using the facilities at a discount for my clients (if you wish to add this on please let me know).

What we like about the venue:

  • Atmosphere: Restorative, professional and welcoming.
  • Specialises in: Massages that will leave you feeling rejuvenated, revitalised and deeply refreshed.
  • Brands and products used: This trendy, eco-conscious salon is proud to use locally-made, cruelty-free, natural and organic products, supporting small businesses while delivering the freshest, highest-quality care.

Welcome to Douglas Caird Intuitive Holistic Therapy. Douglas is an experienced therapist, having dedicated over 25 years to working as a full-time professional practitioner. His treatments are nourishing, restorative and balancing and focus on gently relieving physical and emotional build-up, holding and tensions from stress and anxiety. Douglas will encourage and support you in making the most of your session – for your experience to be the one that is most helpful to you.

Douglas’s massage (originally Swedish based) can be described as nourishing holistic massage and bodywork in that it intrinsically encompasses elements of all the approaches he works with. Integrated sessions are also encouraged, where a combination of treatments are used to work with you in the most appropriate way on the day.

With a wholly person-centred approach, Douglas encourages working in a way in which your session can be tailored to suit your needs on the day and can be changed at any time. You can therefore book the treatment/s that you know you want, or just book an open session and decide on the day, after consultation.

Initially qualified in reflexology he then trained in massage and reiki (master level), clinical hypnotherapy and emotional freedom techniques. In 2024, he completed a 2 year diploma in person-centred counselling and psychotherapy.

Douglas has worked in a variety of clinic settings in Edinburgh and Gloucestershire, including a 3 year period as a senior therapist in 2 high-end rural spas. During this time he taught massage, Indian head massage and spa therapies (BTEC) at Stroud college. He worked as a volunteer counsellor at FDAMH, Falkirk’s Mental health Association.
