House is extremely old which I understand but quality off our room was extremely poor and very basic spa was old and run down could really do with a lot of tlc gowns were tatty too food was excellent but staff service was poor and no one informed us on arrival we could open a tab and pay on checkout so we had to carry cash in our gowns which was a pain

The pool facilities and changing area were very clean and modern and had a nice atmosphere. Before the treatment (back, neck and shoulder massage) began I had to complete a form stating of any problems or specific areas to focus on,which I did. The therapist confirmed this with me at the start of the treatment but completely ignored this. Rather than concentrating on my neck and shoulders as requested, she focused on the lower back and barely touched these areas! This was also the case for my friend despite him specifically asking her to move area. It appeared that the therapist had one technique to stick to and the initial form felt like a waste of every ones time. She was also the least friendly therapist that I have met, she did not introduce herself, give her n or appear interested at all.

The pool room was too hot and cramped. The floor was grubby. Considering how far you had to walk to get your treatments the hotel should provide footwear or state very clearly that you have to leave the spa area to get to the room so bring outdoor footwear. I had a massage and was lathered in too much oil, and the lady used one hand most of the time ( not the usual two) and didn't seem trained in giving massage. I then had a facial and again got lathered in creams on my face and it didn't feel pleasant. Saying that it was still very relaxing and I enjoyed the music in the background. I thought the restaurant was pleasant and I enjoyed the food.
