Very poor!
On arrival no one told us how the day would pan out, where the facilities were, where to get lunch etc.
Lunch was run by one girl who was absolutely clueless. We weren’t offered the drinks menu, nothing. The lunch was edible but very small. We ordered coffee following our meal with cake as we found out we could order additional drinks. However, we weren’t told we had to pay there and then and I thought we’d be able to pay at the end when I wasn’t wearing a dressing gown and swimsuit and had some cash on me!
We waited so long our treatments were due. When I explained this to the spa manager I was told I had a five/ ten minute buffer but if I was later it would come off my treatment time!! We hadn’t overlooked something we had waited thirty minutes for our cake and coffee! Due to the time restraints I ended up leaving half.
Not well organized at all, not enough sunbeds, dirty changing rooms and no separate changing cubicles!
Friendly welcome where we filled out our information and got our towels and robes. Communal changing rooms, which would have been nice to know prior to attending. Lovely conservatory area to sit back and relax in. Water fountain to get a quick drink (would have been a lovely extra if it was flavoured with cucumber or lemon like other spas do). The jacuzzi was lovely and warm. Sauna was comfortable enough although small. The steam room had been out of order when we arrived but was accessible later on. It wasn’t nice in there however, not a nice smell. Perhaps from it being OOO? Some other spas have herbs etc to help clear pores etc so that would be a nice touch. The pool was a bit dirty looking so we didn’t stay in very long.
Treatments; I had a massage followed by a scalp massage. The back, neck & shoulder massage was the best I’ve ever had.
Lunch was included in our stay. On arriving, it took about 15 mins for someone to show us to our table (we were later told that the waiting staff member was poorly so the receptionist was having to cover). It took a further 10-15 mins to get a drink and to place our order. When the food arrived it was very nicely presented and was nice and hot. My only criticism was that my tagliatelle was extremely greasy. This may have been from the cheese / cream sauce? Or the bacon that the chef added for me? However, it had a pool of grease at the bottom and it was thick on my lips when eating. By 3pm I was far too hungry to ask for another so just ate it. Tasty but greasy.
We would return, but I think if they made a few little tweaks it would be a wonderful experience; flavoured water to drink, herbs in the sauna & steam room.
