Had a lovely morning relaxing at the spa. Fantastic facilities and the staff were wonderful at meeting our needs. The food was great and the staff were amazing at arranging suitable times for it to be had. I did find that the changing room became crowded at the end of the experience. This was because there were a lot of people checking out at the same time and they are only small but that would be my only complaint. Would definitely return.
I treated my daughter to a 2 for 1 day pass at The Bridge. Overal it was very good value for money working out at £31 each including cream tea and bubbly. It feels picky to comment on a couple of issues as we did have a lovely time, but the main issue was even though its advertised as a day treat its only 3 hours alloted by email by the venue. They did kindly change my time without a problem when i explained i needed to leave for work by half way through my given time. There was one spa activity that didnt work but a beautician was trying to sort it out. We had to pay £40 extra to do a resul treatment which i thought waa included. Possibly my error but when we had looked forward to it i felt i needed to pay and do it which including a round of drinks doubled the cost of the day. The cream tea was served in the bar area which was very nice indeed. I would go again, but i would need to lose some weight as at size 16 neither mine nor my daughters complimentary robes even fastened. A relaxing experience and we did lots of giggling especially in the outdoor hot tub in december :)
We booked the bubbly break which included afternoon tea in the spa, a glass of prosecco use of the spa a two course evening meal and overnight accommodation with breakfast. The staff were very helpful, the room was nice, the food was good. All in all a nice hotel which I would visit again.
Previously stayed at this hotel and had a brilliant time however after our recent experience I will never visit this hotel EVER AGAIN! Our stay was on a Sunday evening therefore expected a quiet relaxed evening ready for the following day shopping in York! However there was also a function at the hotel that evening, think it must have been a works Christmas party! We basically was woken up at 12.45pm with people returning to their rooms which were situated all around our room, me and my husband expected this may happen however we did not expect what happened next! There were possibly up to 20-30 guests walking up & down the hallways, shouting, swearing, banging on doors, left their hotel room doors wide open with music playing loud whilst going out to smoke! I phoned the reception after 30 minutes and was told by a night porter who spoke very little English that he did not know what to do and put the phone down on me!!! We attempted to phone the reception another 5 times in which it went to voicemail! After over 1 hour of the noise, vulgar language & behaviour my husband went to find a member of staff! Me and my husband felt uncomfortable approaching the guests regarding their behaviour due to the fact all of them were very drunk & there were over 20 of them therefore we decided the best course of action was to find a member of staff! My husband found no one at reception & had to go to the other side of the hotel & eventually found a young man washing up in the kitchen. My husband explained what was happening & the member of staff said they had already spoken to then a number of times regarding their behaviour & noise! But my husband explained it was now approaching 2 hours since they had come back from their party & they were not returning to their rooms but we're just laid up & down the corridors of the hotel rooms drunk shouting & swearing! It took the young member of staff 3 attempts to get the duty manager out of bed to come & speak to my husband & when he eventually arrived he said "what is the problem?" & my husband said well look down there? (Drunken guests laid & sat all around the reception & up the hotel corridors). The manager then replied saying there was nothing they could do & basically it is a functional hotel!!! I am sorry but the behaviour we witnessed was like something out of an hotel in Ibiza not a spa hotel in Wetherby! The fact he thought it was acceptable is absolutely appalling!!!
The manager basically said he was unable to move us room & the only other option was to move to an hotel 3 miles away which is what me & my husband had to do! So 2.30am me & my husband were packing our bags & moving hotel due to guests who had no respect or consideration for anyone else & an hotel believing it is acceptable to act the way they were & bearing in mind I am 5 months pregnant!!!!
The bridge did pay for our stay & breakfast at the other hotel however I have received no contact from them since our visit last weekend, no apology or nothing!!!
I intended to come back to this hotel in the new year with my mum & gran however after my recent experience I will never step foot in this hotel ever again!
And to add insult to injury, as me & my husband were walking down the hotel corridors to leave the hotel with our bags at 2.30am & the some of the drunken guests basically insulted us by saying the did not give a f**k!
I personally would not allow disgusting people like that to stay in my hotel! If you are wanting a relaxing break with friendly staff DO NOT VISIT THIS HOTEL ! NIGHTMARE!
