Our experience at Bannatyne Spa Chafford Hundred was not good. The staff were not very welcoming. We paid for the slippers and robe. After taking a look at how busy the spa was, we decided not to use it. We asked for a refund for the slippers and robe. The lady at reception refused, and said that it was against their policy. We had to speak to the manager, and convince her to give us a refund. We went to the treatment area and there was no one to welcome us. All the staff were just talking amongst themselves whilst we were waiting. The massage was not for 25 minutes, but 20 minutes. We did question this, but were told that they take into account the preparation time. This was our worst spa experience, and certainly not worth the money that we paid. I would not recommend this place.
I had booked a day of treatments for my mum as a late mothers day present 6 weeks in advance. I had booked the Elemis coconut & milk wrap and a full body Swedish massage for my mum and the Elemis Cellutox spa ocean wrap and the full body massage for myself. My booking had been confirmed for the date I had chosen. 4 weeks had passed and I received a call from the Bannatyne Spa telling me that i couldn't have the Cellutox wrap due to only one person being qualified to administer that wrap and that person wasn't 'able' to do it. I then asked why this was so and was told that it wasn't put on her rota. I stated that i had booked this weeks in advance and that provisions should have been made but i was willing to consider the options as my mother was really looking forward to it. We came to the solution that i could have the same body wrap as my mother which was fine by me as i wanted us to have it done at the same time. So the treatments for that day were agreed and booked. On the morning of the spa trip i got a call from the spa, again, telling me that now both my mother and i couldn't have the coconut and milk body wrap as the lady that was scheduled to administer it was ALLERGIC TO COCONUT! At this point i was extremely angry and fed up as this had been the second time they had called to tell me that i 'couldn't' have the treatments that i had originally chosen 6 weeks prior and NO apology was given. I questioned why they hadn't made provisions to ensure that i could have the bookings that i had chosen and why they hadn't found someone else to do my treatments especially since i had given them just 2 months notice. I still went because my mum so so eager to go. So in the end we could only have the Swedish massage and they gave my mother a facial at a discounted rate. My experience there was ruined due to the lack of organisation.
Staff made my mum feel segregated when finding out she was in remission for nearly 5 years from breast cancer
