I first got interested in massage in 1999 when I undertook a Shiatsu massage practitioner’s course at the Ki Kai School of Shiatsu. At the time I was not yet ready to set up business as a massage practitioner, however I spent much of my spare time during the Noughties giving massages to friends and colleagues at London Cycling Campaign, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), (where I worked, latterly as a Research and Advocacy Adviser on Teachers and Health workers issues for 12 years) and at VSO Rwanda where I undertook and published some research into gender inequality in education. In 2011 I had the opportunity to visit Thailand and enrolled on the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai‘s Comprehensive Thai Massage Diploma course. Later that year I decided to deepen my knowledge of Thai massage and enrolled at the Mudita School of Thai Massage in London, where I completed their Advanced Diploma Course. Since establishing Thai-vedic massage in 2013, I have trained in Ayurvedic massage therapies at Ayurveda Pura and Tri- Dosha in London; in Ayurvedic Yoga Massage and Ayurvedic Deep Tissue Massage at Rasovai in Goa, and in Ayurvedic Baby Massage and Chavitti Uzhichil at the School of Ayurveda and Panchakarma in Kerala In 2016 I continued my Thai massage journey by training in Thai Reflexology Foot Massage at the Thai Massage School Shivagakomarpaj & Old Medicine Hospital and in Dancing Thai Massage, with the inspiring and joyful teacher Kam Thye Chow (who sadly died in 2018) and in Advanced Stretches annd Techniques with the amazing Suriyan Punyafoo at the Sunshine School of Traditional Thai Massage, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I added Hot Stone Massage and Balinese Bamboo Massage to my treatment menu after training at Bali International Spa Academy in 2017 and in 2018 undertook an Ayurvedic Deep Tissue Massage Teacher Training course at Rasovai in Goa. Since then I have set up 3 new training courses in Ayurvedic Deep Tissue massage, Thai Yoga massage and Abhyanga Deep Relaxation massage which you can read all about at www.thai-vedicmassageschool.co.uk I have full public liability insurance from the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA). I’m also a member of the Thai Healing Alliance.

N.B. If you develop a cold, kindly reschedule your massage if you will still be in the contagious period (2-3 days after it began) on the date of your appointment..
I will be taking the following Covid 19 precautions to ensure your safety:
HAND SANITISER: I will provide Neal’s Yard Natural Defence Spray (70% alcohol, fragranced with organic tea tree and lemongrass) on arrival.
FACE MASKS: I will wear a visor throughout your appointment and ask that you put on your own face mask before entering the building. If you arrive without a face mask I can provide one. When lying face down you can remove your mask, however I will ask you to wear your face mask when lying face up.
VENTILATION: I will keep the window open for natural circulation of air. I will keep the electric blanket on to keep you warm. In colder weather I will leave the massage room door open, adding a door curtain for privacy and a fan outside the door to circulate the air.
REDUCED TREATMENT TIMES: For the time being I will only be offering 1 hour appointments, the majority of which will be performed with you lying face down. I will see a maximum of 4 clients a day Monday to Saturday
NO MASSAGE IN THE HIGH RISK AREA: Government guidelines recommend no facial treatments, Indian Head massage or work on the head neck or shoulders when lying face up, as this would require prolongued face-to-face contact. So I will only massage your head, neck and shoulders when you are lying face down
HEIGHTENED HYGIENE: I will: disinfect the massage table, all surfaces and door handles between clients; and employ a regular cleaner to deep clean all public areas
BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS: For your safety, please bring your own water or other refreshments
FEELING UNWELL? Please reschedule your appointment, even if it’s last minute! I would also advise any clients who have been shielding to avoid booking a massage for the time being
ONLINE BOOKINGS ONLY: To minimise transmission please book & pay online in advance. Or call me to discuss your appointment.
