The waxing rooms are downstairs, where the overhead fluorescent lightbulbs are failing and flickering. The waxing room is small and needs a lick of paint, the whole place does, and it all looks a bit shabby. I was wearing my big momma pregnancy pants (even though my daughter is now three) and my high bikini wax consisted of the hair on the inside of my thighs being removed. No attempt to go any higher at all. I wasn’t expecting anything gynaecological, but this was cheeky. The wax was very very hot, my therapist listened when I complained and then would blow on it to cool it.
Leg wax was done with one of those canister wax things, where they stroke it over your leg. If I had known I would never have booked here because I just don’t think they are great. I ended up with a large number of tiny bruises because the therapist didn’t hold my skin taut when she removed the wax.
I was asked repeatedly upon arrival if I wanted to buy vouchers because it would be cheaper for me. I said I would wait and see what my treatment was like before I committed. As I left, the vouchers were not mentioned again. I think they know that people won’t come back.
Although the treatment works wonders for my hair- the salon is not the most welcoming place. Staff didn’t seem like they wanted to wash my hair, were also not expecting another customer(me)& I was seen to by four people which destroyed the experience for me. I wasn’t even offered to take off my jacket and had to wash my hair with it on which was uncomfortable. Will only visit again if I know for a fact the shop is empty as I know I will get attention from one stylist instead of many.
