My hair is thick and needs setting to hold a curl, or the right prep. I had booked a blow dry for the Royal Ascot. My stylist knew I was wearing a hat, knew my hair type, and knew that the middle to bottom of my hair had to hold that curl. Despite that he used used tongs for a short time, grouping in large chunks of hair (which for thick hair, means it won’t hold the curl or set) and whatever products he had used weighed my hair down and made it flat, so the curls fell out by the time I had been home and changed to go out, which was 45 minutes later (on a dry sunny morning). My hair was a flat barely-there wave in all the pics, really not worth the money. I have had curly blow dry’s at salons before and I know it takes an hour but hair needs to be sectioned, with tonnes of hairspray and tongs used for longer etc. He got the basics wrong which was disappointing when it was for such a big occasion.
The salon was cool and the staff all nice etc. The salon had a good offer on at the time for a blow dry which is why I tried it. It is at a convenient location on the high street too.
