I had the haircut with conditioning treatment and it was a great experience. My hairdresser was Paulina. The haircut was exactly what I wanted and didn't have a picture or anything, just described how much I wanted off and the length of my layers and that I wanted it long enough to keep in a pony tail. She did a great job cutting it with a style that worked and suited me. The shampoo included a great massage as well, not stingy on the length. I haven't been to a hairdresser that I felt compelled to return too vs. buying a groupon and will definitely be returning to Paulina! For the off peak price it the cut was well worth the money and a great experience!
Unfortunately my experience was not great. The girl I had who cut my hair was nice, but I went away not loving my hair and feeling a bit anxious about the whole experience!
Where you get your hair washed isn't relaxing, as the sinks do not have cushion pads, so you feel in pain/bad neck ache whilst having your hair washed. The actual wash itself was OK, the guy gave a nice head massage, but was hard to enjoy when your neck is in severe discomfort.
The hairdresser I had wasn't very happy that I inky wanted a trim, however eventually agreed to the length I requested (just half an inch off - I don't like getting a lot chopped!) however even thoigh just half an inch, I didn't feel confident that she knew what she was doing, and at the end of the cut she did not show me the back of the hair so I couldn't see if she had made the ends neat.
She asked how I wanted to dryer, I said just straight with a little volume. She then proceeded to heavily blow dry my hair using 3 round hair brushes to add volume. Whilst some people would like this, I found the whole thing made me feel anxious about my hair! Firstly the hairbrushes I could see had a lot of old previous hair in them, which isn't very pleasant to start with - at least wash your hairbrushes when you are charging so much for a trim!
Secondly the way the hairbrushes were left hanging from hair like rollers made my hair feel like it was ripping and becoming damaged. Thirdly having a very hot hairdryer, which feels like it is burning your scalp to make this volume is not worth it, especially as she didn't use any heat protector, so I felt all the time I've spent trying to get my hair in better condition was being ruined by what should have been a pampering haircut. When I left my hair felt corse and dry, something the opposite I expect when coming out of a hairdressers
I don't know how a very small trim went wrong(!), but all I can say is my hair did not feel nourished and looked after, which I expect in any hairdressers.
The people who work there are nice, but I wouldn't return, as I don't feel confident in their hairdressing, and sadly I didn't at all enjoy the experience.
