Having read the other reviews, I would say that this was actually a very good experience. I was nervous at first, worried that this would be a 'snobby' salon. It was anything but- the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had an excellent haircut, and sitting in a relaxing massage chair while having my hair washed was an added bonus. It may help to go at a less busy time. I went on a weekday, at 2pm, when the salon was relatively quiet.
I had long hair down to my waist but had decided it was time for the chop. It was styled and shaped into the most fabuous shoulder length style that is so easy to maintain and which everyone I know has said looks gorgeous. I am definitley going back to this fantastic salon!
Great stylist, very friendly, actually listened to what I wanted, premises are recenltly refurbished and whilst a little shaby from the outside (which I think was imminently being spruced up too) inside is lovely, good cut, best blow dry I've had in years, and a glass of bubbly too! Would definitley go again.
I had a deal for £20 worth of waxing for £5 and used it to get a hot G-string wax which cost me an extra £5. I was really impressed with the place - it's hidden underground next to a hairdresser on Clerkenwell road so took me a few minutes to find it but once I did I was welcomed in from some very heavy snow outside and allowed to relax and read magazines until my appointment came up.
The room was really warm and the therapist was excellent. She talked to me through the whole process and was very efficient. It was one of the most pain-free waxings I've ever had. Afterwards the snow was still really heavy so she suggested I stay there until it had calmed down a bit outside - unfortunately I had another engagement to get to otherwise I definitely would have taken her up on the offer. I would happily pay full-price to go there again, no complaints whatsoever.
Not the absolute worst hair cut/ hair cutting experience I've ever had - but pretty close to it. The guy cutting my hair was rude with a bad attitude. He hardly spoke to me at all and when he did he had given off such an unfriendly vibe that it felt more like an interrogation than a conversation. I wasn't offered any bubbly as per the deal, which was fine because I didn't want it but nor did I get a head massage, which I definitely did want. As for the hair cut, he cut way more off than I wanted, nicked my neck with his scissors, burnt my head with the hairdryer and sprayed sooo much lacquer over my hair at the end I could hardly move it. Overall a pretty unsatisfactory experience to say the least. Thank god, it's still hat season.
