I booked an appointment online and was promptly called to say the time slot reserved with a particular stylist was unavailable. I asked to be booked in with another senior stylist. I can only assume the stylist I had was a barber as most of the equipment on the shelf in front of me were shears and clippers. I got soaked when he washed my hair. He then slapped and hit my scalp as he rough dried my hair, flicking water all over my face and neck. He then held the hairdryer so close to my hair that I could smell it burning. I asked for a bouncy blow dry with waves. He used a paddle brush and blow dried my hair “down” and straight. I know (through having countless blow dries) that he should have lifted from the root of the hair with a barrel brush. He then tonged my hair but left my hair around the barrel for far too long. My hair has been singed and still smells of burn after two washes. Really disappointed and am now concerned my hair has been damaged permanently. I can only assume the barber did my hair as another stylist wasn’t available. I would have preferred the salon to be honest with me and tell me no suitable stylists were available rather than paid me with the barber.
