Staff are so friendly - everyone greeted me as I came in, and even when I was getting the pedicure done and one beauty therapist came back from her break she said hi (in most places they'd just walk past). Nicol did all my treatments - wax/mani/pedi and was incredibly efficient. Really pleased and will definitely be coming back. Will probably try a hair cut there as well.
After reading so many good things I was very disappointed with the service I received. I arrived on time at 10:30 and was waiting half an hour before I knew the reason for the delay, and only because the client got told off loud enough for me to hear. She was told she booked for a wash & blow dry rather than cut & blow dry but the client was adamant she books for the same thing every time. If she's a regular I'd assume she wouldn't have booked for the wrong thing and more likely the staff took the booking down wrong - besides, you don't tell your client off!
I then got told off for my hair being longer than the 'average length of their long foils' and was told I'd have to pay extra next time. I definitely don't have extra long hair and besides, the website didn't include an option to book for extra long hair. I saw in the reviews someone had previously had the same problem.
Excluding the first half hour delay, the treatment was meant to take 2h 15mins, but actually took over 3 hours. I was told it took so long because my highlights had grown out so much - surely that should be taken into account, as I could have turned up with natural hair having not been highlighted before? Also, I know it's only a small thing, but during my hour wait for the highlights to take, I wasn't offered any magazines and eventually got up to find some myself.
The other staff members were so friendly and it was only really my stylist (who seemed to be the manager) who was really quite rude and not very warm. I can excuse a half hour wait, but I never expect highlights to take 3 hours and never expect a client to get the blame for anything - as a business you take responsibility for any delays or problems. I was hoping this would be a great little local as I only live 10 mins away, but will now be taking the trip back up to Kentish Town to get friendlier and faster service I'm used to.
