The voucher lists various treatments including: tea ceremony, refreshments, steam bath, hamman, hot towel wrapping. When we arrived we were shown into the steam baths and left there; after an hour, we ventured out to ask when we would receive the other treatments and were told that we would not be getting any as they were not included on our voucher. As we were semi-naked and dripping wet, it wasn't the best time to argue so we went back inside. In sum, we paid £20 to sit in a steam room- which I could do at my gym for free- and for some turkish tea. Although other reviews of this voucher discussed the body scrub etc, we did not get any of this, were told that "hamman" and "steam bath" are the same thing (so why list them twice?!) and that the "hot towel wrapping" simply meant giving us a towel to dry ourselves with (and it wasnt even hot!) all in all, this was a big disappointment and I feel the voucher is massively unclear and even wrong in what it suggests you will get. One to avoid, unless you really want to be steamed for 2 hours.
The Turkish bath was a beautiful area, couldn't believe I had it all to myself! The treatments were good, the only down point here was there was no time to just sit and enjoy the relaxing area - I had thought it was more like a spa where you could stay in there as long as wanted after the treatment. I also booked in for a massage, which was good but more expensive than most places I've had massages in London.
The location of this place makes it easy to reach via public transport. I had a male masseur who scrubbed me down and then applied a chocolate coating to my body. He was very professional and it felt lovely. Afterwards he washed me down and got me some water, he was very attentive. The changing room and the turkish bath are all in one and I enjoyed washing my hair and just relaxing prior to the scrub and chocolate mask. Afterwards I took my time in getting dressed in the lovely changing room which was like a sitting room and the masseur brought me some tea. This spa is also a hotel and I'd love to stay here it was lovely. A great birthday treat.
This was one of the best experiences I have had with wahanda! Great service, I felt very respected and looked after. The place was clean and traditional, with a lovely atmosphere.
The location of the bath was a little dodgy however upon entry into the hotel and the Turkish bath there was a totally different atmosphere. The Bath was cosy, very clean and very relaxing. The Therapist was very attentive (and handsome!) and made the massage and the chocolate bath a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Afterwards I was offered a mint tea. I felt pampered from start to finish. I would love to go again (the restaurant at the back of the hotel looks very interesting as well.) Hope to go back very soon. Very happy with this experience. :)
