I only put 5 stars only because Paris was very nice, and she looked after me as I am pregnant. But the person who was doing my nails seems like he didn’t notice that I am pregnant and what type of pedicure I booked in. However I will still going to come back and will still recommend this place as Paris is really nice and the place are clean.
I’m glad I waited to see if my nails would last to book a review as unfortunately they didn’t. I’m usually reluctant to get my nails done at these sort of bars as I find that it can be difficult due to the language barrier to explain why you want, you don’t get much communication from your therapist due to the language barrier and it often seems like you are being rushed. My usual nail technician was booked on the days I could attend so I decided to give this place a try.
I was impressed by the layout and was greeted by a man who spoke perfect English who offered me biscuits and tea. My nail technician David however did not speak good english but I felt happy with how my nails looked after. I paid £10 extra to have a gel polish over my acrylic infills as I don’t have the time to attend often and find with this they last 3-4 weeks ( before they grow out so much it obviously looks bad).
This time my nails lasted 3 days. One chipped and the acrylic came off the edge. Then 2 days later another nail did the same but this time worse so that a huge section of the acrylic come off. It’s important to note that my nails were not really long to break and the nail
Itself didn’t break ( which can obviously happen) but the acrylic they did snapped off and the nail underneath was fine. This should not happen. So a week later I was back to get 2 nails repaired .
I had explained to them on the phone what happened and asked if I could come
down to repair it. When I got there one of the 2 ladies who speak English asked me
when I had got them done when I explained what happened again and I made them aware I had only been in 7 days before. despite this charged me £5 to repair the two acrylic nails they clearly didn’t do properly .
Forward less than a week later another nail has chipped again and the acrylic has come off and the same happened on another nail 2 days later so badly that now my natural nail underneath which would
Be weak from having acrylic on top has now broken.
So that’s 4 nails not done properly .....
I’m quite disappointed as I had high hopes for this place but never have I had 4 nails break/chip after an acrylic infill with gel on top ( which reinforces the nail)! Not happy at all!
I booked an appointment in advance but still had to wait 20 mins for my treatment. I have to admit that I found this annoying - the reason I book in advance is so that I don’t have to waste my limited spare time waiting. I would have appreciated a gesture to acknowledge this, such as the offer of gel polish instead of normal polish to gain back the time I lost waiting (gel dries faster).
That being said, I found it very sweet that they offer biscuits and water to those who are waiting their turn. The gentleman who did my nails was very nice and did a great job too. The staff are friendly also.
The waiting area is a little cramped but I appreciate that the salon isn’t huge so there’s only so much they can do. The area where you sit to dry your nails is ok, although I think it would go down well for them to put a TV there or a fish tank as it’s very boring sitting there waiting 20-30 mins for your nails to dry 😂 overall, I am satisfied with the outcome of my appointment but some elements could be improved. Thank you!
