To start, I booked an appointment for a deluxe manicure and pedicure and they were 20min late. After that, the man who treated me seemed in a rush and painted my nails very bad. I have gaps, bubbles and skin painted. And when I got home, the paint of the big toe nail was half gone. All for £35. Not worth it at all.
To start on a positive note, I arrived early for my appointment, expecting to wait in a thankfully air conditioned salon for a while. I'd booked in for bikini, leg and under arm waxing, to pay at the venue. The therapist was able to see me immediately. Once in the room, she told me to take off my skirt and pants, and made it clear that she wouldn't be leaving the room during this process. I'm not particularly shy, but it was abrupt and the only time in years of waxing that I haven't been left alone and with a towel to preserve some pretence at modesty. The leg wax was good and very thorough; the bikini wax was painful, and I was left with red skin for days after, and some peeling. I don't know if this is from the wax being too hot or the technique, which consisted of layers of wax being put on over previous layers - definitely the thickest wax coating I've ever seen used! The under arm wax was similar; very thick multiple layers of wax used, and I was left red and peeling there as well. When I came to leave, I was told that the price would be higher than that on the Treatwell site - when I queried this I was shown a flyer with the higher prices in, and told Treatwell "must have old prices". I emailed Treatwell about this and have been told the prices have now been updated to reflect current rates. They also don't take card payments, so I had to leave the salon to find a cash point to pay the higher rate. So - overall, good for a very efficient and thorough leg wax, but I'd avoid for anything else. Keep your pants on, ladies!
