Very disappointed with my experience - I purchased a £36 package for wash, conditioning mask, cut and blow dry. When I arrived, they were short of stylists and so there was only one stylist having to cut multiple peoples' hair at once. She was clearly very angry about it and I can't help but feel like she took it out on my hair... There was no conditioning treatment, just one single shampoo, and then she started to cut my hair without asking what I wanted done. I tried to explain a couple of times but there was no recognition that she had heard what I had said. It was done in such a hurry, blow dried with such rough force, I just sat there with my eyes closed waiting for it all to be over. Gusto is a sleek looking place, and I have no doubt the stylists are talented, but their attitude towards me that day was really unacceptable. I'm just annoyed at myself for paying the £36.
I always respect Gusto for providing affordable hair services in central London, however in my recent trips I've been really let down by the hair washing. I feel like this is a vital part of the experience, and for the past three visits it has been a little bit slap dash, without a proper shampoo to the roots etc. The 'luxury conditioning treatment' is just conditioner, not left on the hair for more than a few minutes. I was also slightly shocked on how zero product they use on the hair before the blow dry- no protection mists or serums to project my bleached, fine hair. I keep coming back to Gusto for the good price, but I am definitely on the hunt for something a bit more efficient.
