I initially booked a haircut, wash and blow dry. When I went there, I explained to the stylist that I wanted a haircut with layers. He looked at my hair, left and came back with a new price. He said he was going to charge me an additional £10 because what I wanted was not just a haircut but a restyling. I’ve never heard of this before and tried to explain this to him. He wasn’t listening to me but since I already paid and made my way down to the salon, I gave up and said okay to the additional payment. I will never go to this place again. I told the stylist that their page does not mention anything about what a restyling entails nor a haircut so how could he just tell me this now? I’ve made a complaint to Treatwell and hopefully they will help me resolve this issue. I would advise that you double check before booking. I will never go to this salon again! The only reason I went in the first place was because of the great reviews but I don’t know if they were trying to pull a fast one.
Overall, the venue was okay - but the pictures make it look much more modern and clean! It was definitely quite rough around the edges. I was also quite disappointed with the service - while most were being asked for their drinks orders and given complimentary snacks, I was not asked a single question (even about how I wanted my hair blow dried, despite paying extra for the service). From my experience, I would say it is a hit and miss experience... however mine was sadly on the lower end of the ratings!
The lady that did my hair absolutely nailed the colour, especially considering I had bad grown out roots, she colour matched it to perfection, hair feels bouncier than it has in years and I've received so many compliments. It is a small salon however which meant everyone was a little cramped, and they were cleaning hair away using blowdryers. The only other thing was hairstylists there were doing their own hair and colleagues hair at the same time, which was slightly unprofessional but not an actual problem.
