Overall unprofessional and stressful experience. I understand that the price is attractive on Treatwell, but I was confronted with not one but two hidden charges. I had a late evening slot and asked to cut about 15cm with the same hairstyle which just had layers, to which they said that they can only do a trim or a simple straight cut because it is a “total restyle” which costs £51 because it is a “big, more technical job” that will take more than 45mins-1hr and she will have to stay after the salon closing time. It’s quite unprofessional to complain to a customer that it’ll take too long for what I asked for when it is exactly the same cut I usually get at the Covent Garden Gusto branch without any extra charges - just shorter with layers. I’ve never had making layers or fringes refused in any other salons either if I had paid for a “cut”. Second hidden charge - I paid for “wash and cut long hair” on the app but they told me I have “extra long” hair which is £5 extra. There’s no option for this on the app so I didn’t know about this charge, and is definitely not made clear on Treatwell - worse yet it doesn’t define what long, medium and extra long means so who knows if they just define it arbitrarily. I wouldn’t have been so upset if these charges were made clear on the website so I know in advance I’m not going to get these hidden charges at the salon!
Pros: managed to get a last minute booking on the day, hairstylist Sary was skilful in cutting my hair and was a personable and nice person.
