I arrived early and was able to be seated immediately where the stylist offered me a drinks and some magazines. We discussed the plans for my hair (both colour and cut) and then she began the foils. The stylist wasn't a big talker, which was fine with me, but was friendly all the same.
Once the foils were completed I was offered another drink (I had declined the first) and I was given a diet coke. The stylist came back over shortly after (after checking the colour a few times) and said it was ready so we headed over to the sinks.
After having the colour washed out the stylist asked if I would like some toner as the colour hadn't come out very bright but this would cost me an extra £15. She showed me the colour and I agreed but I couldn't help thinking that this was perhaps because the colour hadn't been left on quite as long as normal - or perhaps because she hadn't put as many foils in as I usually have.
The stylist then mixed peroxide and toner and put this mixture all over my hair - essentially like a full head of dye. This felt like it was burning my scalp and also smelt really bad but was only left for around 6-7 minutes. Once that was washed out we went back to the chair and started the cut.
I had asked for a fringe and just a trim to neaten up the ends, and then she blowed dried my hair in waves. The colour came out really nice even though the process wasn't quite as I was used to, and the cut looked really good.
Overall I am very happy with my haircut although personally I am not sure I would return to the salon.
Wow! I don't think I've ever been so happy with a cut and highlights. Lavi was really sympathetic, warm and smart. He just decided what to do and did it. He also gave me a cold beer on a hot day and was really nice to talk to. everyone was very warm and good fun. It's a buzzing place right in the thick of it in Soho. I was a bit put off by how grubby it was and staff lunches about in plastic boxes...it's run down. But I'm so glad I went and will probably go back because Lavi is tiptop!
It was very nice treatment. The stylist was very pleasant and smiling. She was not doing my blow dry in hurry, rather she was asking me every time so as what type of blow dry I wanted. I just loved to be there. This is the one of the rare salons in central London which do their job in order to please customers, otherwise many salons I have visited are in such hurry as if they have no time for customers visiting them and they are doing some kind favour doing their treatment. I am surely awarding this salon 5 stars.Thank you.
Hairdresser listened to what I wanted and made a suggestion of a suitable colour. I was pleased with the colour although as it was quite dark to start with it has gone a bit lighter which is great.
