It was a good value half highlights and cut, I also like not to have to 'chat' to hairdressers so it was great for me. It's not the most salubrious of salons, and not in the best area of Soho, but you can't beat the value, and it was a good colour and cut so I am pleased.
The staff were friendly, but George misunderstood the type of haircut I had asked for, and I had to stop midway when I saw he was layering my hair from the outside, rather than from the neck out. He also completely misunderstood my hair, and his idea that my hair was lighter has led to my hair being more unmanageable. I had asked him about a problem I was having with my hair being greasy after washing throughly my hair (not using conditioning), and he suggested I have a greasy scalp, whilst instead I know I have dry hair, and recommended a different shampoo. Afterwards, I asked in another salon, and they told me it was something completely different, and it was due to my tying my hair up all the time, and the hair follicle being under stress, and recommended a completely different treatment.
Overall, I think this was all due to inexperience, and if all you need is a simple haircut, you will like Gusto. However, based on my experience, if you want to some advice on your hair, or if you have difficult hair, I wouldn't recommend Gusto.
However, I'd also like to say that when I was there, there was another hairdresser there, called Rafa, and even though he didn't work on my hair, he seemed more experienced, so my experience might have been different with him.
