I booked the stylist, Carmel, based on previous good reviews I saw here, and I wasn't disappointed. She cut my very long hair and did full-head permanent coloring, and the result was fantastic. Carmel is absolutely wonderful and a delight to work with: very sweet; polite; thoughtful & careful with every step of her work; and of course most importantly, very skillful and good at what she does. I felt well valued and looked after, and very happy with the result. I highly recommend Carmel, who works at Gusto on Thursdays and Fridays.
The hair salon itself is nicely compact, clean and neat, with a lovely decor. The location right in the heart of Soho is very convenient. It was my first time visiting Gusto and would definitely return. The price is extremely reasonable, great value for money!
Use to go to Gusto before I went abroad for a year, just arrived home and went straight back to get my hair fixed ! Was not disappointing, my stylist was as good as ever and she remembered exactly how I like my hair styled. Seems like they revamped the decor as well, from pop arty to a more classic look. All excellent as always, only thing was one of their wash basins was leaking so there were repair men back and forth. Even so very pleased and will be back!
Beware when selecting the option for length of hair. Having What I consider to be 'short hair' - a couple of inches below my chin, I was then told on the day that my hair was classed as 'medium' and was charged an extra £7. This then meant that I paid £30 for a cut with someone who was clearly an inexperienced hairdresser.
I reported my disappointment at the end of the cut but was regardlessly still charged the extra fee after the receptionist even admitting that it was a flawed system... Not impressed. Will not be going back.
