Inside gusto is lovely but it is right next to 'models upstairs' (!) facility which makes it much less desirable. The man who cut my hair did a very good job but didn't speak great English. So whilst he clearly knew what he was doing, it was hard to tell him exactly what I wanted done with my hair. As a result it's not quite how I wanted it, even if it does look nice!
Overall I am happy with the haircut but don't think I'd use again as frankly not sure I want to be in that part of soho again!
The Gusto Hairdressing is a very convenient venue. Located in Soho and open everyday, provides fast and high quality services. I went for hair conditioning, scalp treatments, and haircuts, and I will definitely go back again. Recommended
I arrived a little early and was asked to sit. A drink was offered to me whilst I awaited my appointment time. I ended up waiting another 30 minutes after my original appointment time, the reason was not told to me at the time, but was later explained in an email that it was due to their system going down (not sure how this affected my wait whilst in the salon, but hey ho). My hairdresser was very thorough and friendly and helpful. We discussed what I wanted and how although my hair was in desperate need of a tidy up I would like to keep as much length as possible. The hairdresser told me after assessing my hair I would need to lose an inch and showed me what he thought was an inch/what he would be taking off, which I was happy with.
The cut I got was far shorter. It wasn't entirely noticeable at the time as the hairdresser styled my hair in big bouncy curls, which looked nice and isn't something I can achieve at home myself and so I appreciated the time spent and the explanation of how to do it myself at home. I estimate I have lost about 3 inches of hair as it was originally down to my waist and now it is half way up my back. The cut as well when my hair is straightened is noticeably blunt in places. I tend to style my hair straight as I am not very good at styling so the blunt blocky cut to some of my layers is quite obvious. I would go back again but ensure that my hair is styled in a way that I can see just how much has been taken off and if it is too blunt so I can raise it at the time. Having my appointment start 30minutes late and then having a longer appointment than advertised (1 hour turned into an hour and 15minutes) meant that instead of being in the salon for one hour I was in there for almost 2. It affected my evening plans as I was running late and meant I had to buy dinner out in the end as I wouldn't have got hom until really late. Therefore not as much of a bargain and relaxing treat as I had hoped.
As a blonde with long hair it's very hard to find someone who can get both the cut right and colour. Bita at Gusto is an amazing, passionate hairdresser who I will definitely be returning to. She is efficient, cheerful and approachable. She did a brilliant job with my highlights and even threw in a free quick blow dry. I had to pay and extra 10 pounds for toner, but that's expected for blonde. Would recommend Gusto, especially Bita.
